There is nowhere quite like staying at Sal Salis, the gateway to Ningaloo Reef in Northern Western Australia, and with bookings now open for the 2024 season it’s time to start planning your escape.
A stay at Sal Salis
Sal Salis brings a touch of style to a remote and spectacularly beautiful wilderness region, where the outback meets the reef hidden amongst the dunes overlooking the stunning Ningaloo reef.
Sal Salis does not offer traditional luxury, rather the luxury is the experience of reconnecting with nature and escaping the everyday. In each of their fifteen spacious wilderness tents and honeymoon tent, you are raised up on platforms which unobtrusively allow you to feel immersed in nature.
The Sal Salis camp provides an oasis of comfort and sanctuary to chill out during or at the end of each day. All inclusive, the resident chef prepares delicious meals peppered with local ingredients and highlighting fresh seafood while offering a select cellar of premium Western Australian wines.
In this relaxed and informal atmosphere meals are shared with other guests and hosted by the Sal Salis team. Leaving you to spend the rest of your evening idled away under a blanket of stars.
The camp’s environmental credentials ensure a minimal footprint in this pristine environment.
Exploring the coastline
Walk onto the crisp white sand, before wading into the clearest turquoise waters you’ve ever seen of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef.
Here at Ningaloo the coral is within swimming distance from your private beach, so there is no need for boats and time-consuming transfers. Swim with whale sharks, humpback whales and manta rays.
Explore the coastline with guided walks in Cape Range National Park taking in Mandu Mandu Gorge and Yardie Creek where you will see amazing red rock canyons and gorges. Or soak up the scenery in Turquoise Bay a gem of stunning natural beauty.
When to visit
