Sustainability & Ecology
Amilla Maldives is dedicated to reducing their impact on the fragile environment in many ways through sustainable farming, ethical sourcing, and conservation.
With vast edible gardens and coconut plantations on the island Amilla produces a variety of its own sustainably grown herbs, vegetables, mushrooms, and fruit for use in the restaurant’s kitchen. The resorts ethical meat program saw all suppliers reviewed to ensure that animal products are antibiotic free, hormone free and raised on the natural food sources.
Amilla Maldives directly employs a full time Marine Biologist to assist in maintaining their reef and beaches. They host a weekly Marine biology session for guests and champion a Mini Marine Biology program so little Amilla guests can learn about ecology and marine life on the island.
