Travelling to the UK? Be sure to get your ETA.

From 27 November 2024 travellers originating from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Canada, the United States and others (see full list), will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to travel to the United Kingdom from January 2025.

The ETA application must be completed online and approved before you step onboard your flight to the UK.

Some quick facts:

·  An ETA is needed to enter the UK from 8 January 2025

·  All travellers to the UK need their own ETA even babies and children

·  The process is not instant. Applicants are told to allow up to three working days to receive a response

·  The cost is £10 – paid via credit card or debit card at the time of your online application

·  You will need your passport to apply. ETAs are linked to the passport you applied with. If you get a new passport, you need a new ETA.

·  Your ETA lasts for 2 years. You can travel to the UK as many times as you want during that time for stays up to 6 months.

·  You cannot get a refund after you apply

·  Apply via the UK Government Website or on the UK ETA app.
