Across the travel sector we’re seeing more and more positive signs towards Australia opening its international borders and allowing overseas travel to resume.
When? All sources point to a December 2021 restart.
We first got excited at the announcement that Fiji Airways would resume international flights to and from Australia in December.
Today, Qantas has confirmed it’s intended start date of six of its most popular international routes as of December 18, with other major international airlines following suit, including Air Canada.

This is obviously dependent on our government easing travel restrictions, based on achieving certain vaccination targets.
It is very likely travellers will be required to be fully vaccinated, and some form of vaccination passport maintained.
The primary destinations being reported to restart international travel for Australians include:
· UK
· North America
· Canada
· Japan
· Singapore
· Fiji
